Review of the book “The Dawn of Bodies”, by Paola Alfaro Mori

The dawn of bodies

For some time now, I like dystopias more and more. Obviously they must have a component that manages to surprise me, something that breaks my mold and confronts me with other realities that I could never have imagined. And, in this sense, the new editorial commitment of Books and Literature It has everything to make this curious dystopia by Paola Alfaro Mori a benchmark in this genre. The dawn of bodies It is a novel as lucid as it is original, as brilliant as it is unexpected, as entertaining as it is surprising. A surprise that your readers will love.

Paola Alfaro Mori takes us to the year 2162, and does so with a question that already says a lot about the unique universe in which she immerses us: What would you do if you were forced to share what anchors you to this world?

We thus meet Enzo Saleri, a renowned producer who, immersed in a work crisis, is about to embark on a new project that could put him back in the spotlight. On the other hand, Gael is a priest of firm conventions for whom destiny has something in store. On his deathbed, Alida, her mother, offers him to continue with the cause that she and her father have been fighting for all their lives and that Gael was unaware of. Until now. Now is when he must decide whether to continue in his apparent tranquility or follow the path for which his mother has been in some way preparing him.

What unites Enzo and Gael, two seemingly so different people? Well, much more than you can imagine, readers. They both share a body. Yes, as you read it. And, in this unique dystopia, the regime established by the Global Government of Environmentalists has decided to reduce the world’s population by half through a new technology that forces two people to use the same body. In this way, human beings live one week on and another week off. In this way, Gael lives one week of his life and the other Enzo.

Obviously, not all citizens are happy with this Government measure. Some simply abide by it, without considering what lies beyond all this; Others, however, are determined to do whatever it takes to free themselves once and for all from this imposed injustice that limits their freedom and invades their lives until it takes control of them.

Both Enzo and Gael will fight in a particular way to end this regime. Each one has their motives, their reasons for carrying out this fight and, now that they have decided to take a step forward, neither of them will stop. They are also needed in this. They remain one.

Can they stop the body regime? You’ll have to read this fantastic novel to find out.

Paola Alfaro Mori immerses us in The dawn of bodies in a most original dystopia. A very fine work that manages to immerse the reader in a unique world. With an impeccable literary style and agile narration, the author invites us to reflect on the future of human beings and the consequences of our decisions, while making us question what future awaits us as a species and what we could expect from planet Earth. here a few years of continuing like this.

A novelty from the publisher of Books and Literature I hope it reaches many readers, because a story this lucid and original deserves good readers to give it life. Are you going to miss it?
