In a futuristic dystopia, Oshiko is happy to be able to delegate most of her decisions to technology thanks to the chips inserted in her body, so she doesn’t have to worry about organizing her days, her meals or her leisure: the algorithm chooses it. everything in its place. However, a chance encounter awakens new questions in her about technology and the comforts it offers us.
My events
A brutal typhoon is approaching and the rivers are about to overflow, threatening to flood everything. Katsuyuki is calm because he lives on one of the top floors of the building and, therefore, his house will not suffer any damage, not like that of the neighbors below, some poor people who all live in overcrowded conditions. However, Katsuyuki’s wife has other plans for when the storm hits.
Yukiko Motoya (Ishikawa, 1979) is a novelist, playwright and theater director. After moving to Tokyo to study drama, she founded the Yukiko Motoya Theater Company, whose plays she writes and directs. She has been the winner, among others, of the Noma, Yukio Mishima and Kenzaburo Oe awards.
