Clara Lofthus has just taken over as Norway’s Minister of Justice, a demanding job for anyone, especially a widowed mother of twins. A month after her appointment, she returns home after work and finds that her children have disappeared. From that moment on, Clara has to keep a cool head and find out if the kidnapping is related to her new position or to the past that she believed buried in the fjords.
Ruth Lillegraven (1978) is originally from the fjord area, on the west coast of Norway, and currently lives on the outskirts of Oslo. In 2005, she debuted as a writer with the publication of her first book of poetry, and since then she has written another novel and several collections of poems that have been published in different European countries. She is also the author of six children’s books and a play. For her literary works she received several awards, including The Brage-Prize and the Nynorsk Literatur Prize. In the Deep Fjord is her first thriller novel and the first installment of a duology.
