Synopsis

The volume includes the following stories:

The old bones of the emperor. Tim is about to get what he has been wanting since childhood, he just has to find the ingredients for the dish called: the emperor’s old bones and thus cheat death.

Little ease. Bad real estate practices in a neighborhood that wants to gentrify serves as the setting for this story about the language of angels and the atrocities that are committed in pursuit of unprecedented investigations. Ginevra Chrane is an exterminator who is tasked with not eliminating an infestation from a specific building. Fed up with the bad conditions in which she works, she decides to put an end to the plague and flee the city. In the basement of the building she will discover that one of the old women has been experimenting to try to find the original language.

Funerary trousseau. A rare burial has been discovered near a reserve in Canada. The research team is torn between respecting the tribe’s wishes or taking them to the laboratory, but the buried beings have other plans, now that they are finally free.

Everything I teach you are pieces of my death. Some of the characters of Experimental film star in this story about an urban legend: The Man in the Background, someone who appears in the shots of movies and series, increasingly closer, increasingly clearer…

Hair. Voodoo and family curses go hand in hand in this story with neo-Lovecraftian overtones set in the deep south of the United States. Russy’s family, slave owners, has been exterminated and their estate destroyed, or so it was thought. But the curse lives on and a single drop of blood from a family descendant will be enough to bring chaos again.

All angel. A gangster, somewhat mystical, becomes infatuated with a kind of angel that scavenges through the streets of his territory, orders him to catch it and cage it. The gangster seeks answers to his prayers, but is not prepared for the destruction that is unleashed: “Every angel is terrible.”

This is not for you. What would the maenads of the 21st century be like? Violence, rituals and a psychopath who finds in a peculiar group the perfect place in which to give free rein to her murderous desires.
