Stars for a tube
by Enrique Joven
Enrique Joven, astrophysicist, after the experience of observing the stars for many years, has written a history of astronomers. In the context in which they lived and observed the sky with passion to try to understand it, rescuing its incredible discoveries and surprising vicissitudes.
From the first Sumerian astronomer, the priestess Enheduanna, who 4,300 years ago wrote down the first observations on her clay tablets, to the present day. From mythology and astrology to gravitational waves and the most modern telescopes.
There are many astronomy books, but perhaps its story has never been told as it is told here, in a didactic, entertaining, ironic and entertaining way. From beginning to end, the main questions that have always intrigued mankind are raised. And many questions still have no answers.
Enrique Joven has a doctor in Physical Sciences. In 2002 he published his first novel, The Horrible Book. He is the author and screenwriter of the scientific outreach series “A Stellar Program.” Since 1991 he has resided in Tenerife, where he works as a senior engineer at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands and collaborates in the local press.
Stars for a Tube is the third work that he publishes in Roca Editorial after The Castle of the Stars and The Temple of Heaven.
