Soulbiter
by Santiago Alvarez Muñoz

Abel Lanuza leaves a psychiatric centre after thirty months of confinement and tries to resume his life with Merche, his wife, and Jorge, their son, but everything is against him. His only chance to recover is the inheritance from his uncle, who recently committed suicide in the village of Muerdealmas, in the remote territory of Tinença de Benifassà. There he will be welcomed by a hostile and wild environment dominated by the Osset brothers (Ibón, Ventisca and Ferrán), whose criminal activities maintain their way of life.

The Ossets are a family in crisis whose leader is questioned while tensions grow with their historical enemies, the Wolffoot. Blizzard Osset will try to prevent this rift from growing, even though she herself bears the weight of a great secret.

Abel and his family seem to be adjusting to life in Soulbiter, but it is only a mirage. Soon memories of the Ossets and Abel’s past, which has faded from his memory, will emerge. Determined to discover his uncle’s fate, Abel will begin an obsessive investigation while the Ossets maneuver to avoid disaster. A series of events will unleash forces never seen before in these mountains while Abel and Blizzard see how their attempts to stop the conflict fail.

A novel about madness and survival, whose irreconcilable sides walk inexorably towards the final settling of accounts. The result will be decided in a village isolated from the world, with its own rules: SOUL-BITER.
