Mrs. Yeom’s Amazing Shop

Synopsis:

Dokgo lives on the streets and sleeps at Seoul Station. He once had a job, a house, a family, but one day he lost everything. Even his memory. When he finds a wallet, he decides to give it to its owner, Mrs. Yeom, a middle-aged former teacher who runs a small 24-hour shop. To thank him, the woman invites him to eat at her shop whenever he wants, and not only that: when she needs to fill a vacancy on the night shift, she offers him the job. Thanks to his new position, Dokgo, sometimes clumsy, sometimes silent, begins to help many people in the neighbourhood. Contact with others will help him regain his memory and a new reason to live.

Author Biography:

Kim Ho-yeon has worked as a novelist, playwright, and comic book writer. Considered a well-rounded storyteller, he won the 9th Segye Literary Prize (offered by the Segye Ilbo newspaper) in 2013, and was named Yes24 Book of the Year in 2021 and Millie Audiobook of the Year.
