Author biography:
Hilary Mantel (United Kingdom, 1952-2022) studied Law in London and worked briefly in a geriatric hospital, an experience she later reflected in her novels. In 1977 she moved to Botswana and in 1982 to Saudi Arabia, where her third novel is set. She won numerous literary awards for her novels and travel books, but her greatest success came with her Thomas Cromwell trilogy, consisting of In the Wolf’s Court, A Queen on the Stand, and The Thunder of the Kingdom.
