MW Craven was born in Carlisle but grew up in Newcastle where he joined the army when he was just sixteen years old. He spent the next ten years traveling the world. In 1995 he studied a master’s degree in social work specializing in criminology. He now said himself exclusively to writing. He is currently married and lives in Carlisle with his wife.
