There is a song by Hidrogenesse that some could apply to this book of Nestor Reina. Says something like“Don’t tell me that there is nothing sadder than yours. There are thousands of things in the world that are much worse …” . Because yes, the crisis of the 30 and a break are sad, but you are the stylist putomejor of Barcelona! And also“A night shift, that much sadder, in the assembly chain waiting for the siren with the worst of RubĆ telling its miseries …”
. Not to mention the little horses, of course! There may also be someone, probably a member of “The Chungos and Fachas Heteruzos Clubā¢
“To read the book and say that Gilipolz is going, that that has happened to everyone (or almost), that it is even the balls of autobiographical books in which the author exposes his luxuries and miseries (**), etc. Well, no dear and dear of mine, because speaking of the personal one can speak perfectly about the general (what to talk about your village to talk about the world” review “)! So going beyond the strictly autobiographical, this book is a mixture of Sex in New York y Fleabag
(almost essential series and absolute crush with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, by the way), a tragicomedy about love and fear (***) or fears, about that feeling that “something is missing”, about rituals or grooms future. Especially flashing, and shows the tone of the book, it is a vision that has its own funeral with a final stop in room 1 of Apollo (****). In short, what we read in Nature will end up hugging us
It is a uninhibited exercise of introspection in the form of a diary of thoughts, quotes and duels away from more or less conventional narrative structures. Of course, the latter should not surprise us when the book carries the seal Jekyll & Jill, right?
Well, the fact is that this structure, obviously, conditions the text and means that there is no continuity or development of the author-person (and hence that end also somewhat abrupt), but contributes decisively to the book transmitting freshness and sincerity. These qualities are also reinforced by that distancing marked by the author, for that look from the outside and, according to the moment, giant, pathetic, triumphant, lost, radiant, etc. I finish saying that you leave aside prejudices, clichĆ©s and other family. This is a good book that, whatever it is, speaks of something as universal as love and beauty, who by the way“Always, always, will always open the way to make this world a more beautiful place”
. I hope it’s always like that, Nestor, hopefully.
The photo of NĆ©stor Reina that appears in the flap of the book takes me to the image of Genis (Hidrogenesse, Astrud …)? Is Nestor his stylist, are colleagues?
(**) Luxury and misery is the title of a compilation of the Austrohungal seal in which the magnificent “Vente with Italy” of … of … Hydrogenssese was included !!!! Too much coincidence, right?
(***) The fear I have is the title of an astrud song(****) In Apollo, but in room 2, HidrogeGegen acted on March 14, 2025
